1 small can evaporated milk
1 bag of caramel candies, unwrapped
3/4 C. butter, melted
1 box german chocolate cake mix
nuts (optional)
1 C. chocolate chips
Grease & flour a 9X13 cake pan. Melt caramel with 1/2 can of evaporated milk. Mix cake mix, melted butter, reserved 1/2 can of evaporated milk and nuts. Press 1/2 the mixture into the bottom of the pan and bake for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked cake and then pour caramel on top of chocolate chips. Crumble the rest of the cake mixture over the top and then bake for 15 - 18 minutes.
